about

PRADO is the project of producer Nicolás Prado. “Machines” is the name of his new EP, which follows two previous EPs, “Distorted Reality” and “Stuck in Space”, released in 2021 under the name Blxzey.

PRADO represents an evolution in the work of this young musician born in London, but living in Peru from a young age. Son of jazz guitarist Andrés Prado and singer-songwriter Paloma La Hoz, Nicolás Prado has trained as a guitarist, and has travelled through genres such as rock and jazz, but it has been in electronic music where he has unfolded a personal universe.

With “Machines”, he synthesizes elements of drum & bass, breakcore, IDM, video game music, etc., all those genres that, reborn and transformed in the hands of new generations, have been grouped under the name of webcore. But, although the referents seem familiar, PRADO is really moving in undefined terrain, pushing his creativity towards experimentation. The viscerality of his tracks is proportional to his careful organization of sounds.

In “Machines”, the accelerated rhythms of breakcore coexist with heavy dubstep bass playing and unintelligible samples. The themes are short, but they settle quickly in memory. The titles refer to the viral imaginary, the hacking of machines, and the disease of technology. A soundtrack for a collapsing world on the other side of the screen.

“Machines” will be out on November 25 via Buh Records. It will be available on all digital platforms and in a limited edition on cassette. On the occasion of the launching, the video clip of the song "Chemical Waste", directed by Nicolás Prado, is also released.
