Denis Rollet
Born in 1969
Sound engineer and sound artist, Denis Rollet works in the fields of dance, cinema and music, notably for choreographer Cindy Van Acker, performer Yann Marussich and directors Nicolas Deschuyteneer and Patricia Gélise. He is also co-founder with Marie Jeanson of the Cave12 in Geneva, concert venues for experimental music opened in 1989. He also works as a sound engineer for various music groups.
As an artist, he often wonders about sound micro-phenomena and their relationship to gesture.
His live devices are made of often homemade electronic assemblies, magnetic tapes and hijacked standard hi-fi equipment. These are the vectors of its ability to amplify auditory phenomena and reduce them to the very source of sound. His performances are complex, raw and intense, but always focused on listening.
