Luz María Bedoya – Me Tiemblam mis labios (2009)

English Version
Luz María Bedoya – Me tiemblam mis labios (“My lips [my] tremble”) (2009)
This work is a spoken text from which the letters conforming the title phrase have been edited out. This second text exists in absence, it can be noticed only by the interruptions that mark the first text, which has been wounded in order to let the second one appear.
The first text is a series of recent dates that point out certain failures among Peruvian idiosyncrasies: the day when a national newspaper publishes the photograph with a contemptuous caption of a Quechua congresswoman holding a paper with her notes in incorrect Spanish, the day when the director of a state hospital authorizes re-use of disposable surgical instruments; among others.
The second, inaudible text, is the phrase “My lips [me] tremble”, which is also the title of the piece. “Me tiemblan mis labios” has, strictly speaking, an incorrect Spanish syntax, even though it is perfectly understandable. It is conformed of a double possessive, which is a frequent formation in the Spanish used by the Peruvian Andeans immigrants in Lima.
This audio was recorded in the studio of RPP (Radio Programas del Perú) radio station with the collaboration of its main broadcaster, Mr. Hugo Almanza.

Angel,
I heard your interview with Jason Woodbury on Aquarium Drunkard's "Transmissions" podcast today. It was truly remarkable and touched my heart. I bought this album immediately afterward and am so grateful to you for this nourishing music in these strange, trying days. I hope I can time my next trip to Chicago to be able to see you perform live. Thank you! Michael Feltes

There’s room for improvisation in the style of “Perfect (Every Time)” – focused, with broken vocals and bow strokes. But also for a direction in the style of “Open Winded” – a film-like, emotional melody with beautiful harmonies. This is an open, light, and bold album; spontaneous music, full of fantasy and intriguing details.
